What I eat in a day series! Sunday special

Of course after the Saturday detox, Sunday demands a pamper to the tummy and taste buds. Again nothing exotic I need, but what my mind craves for. Today started with green super foods as pre workout , had coconut water during workout to get the electrolytes in as it was a heavy cardio session, and post workout straight to a North Indian breakfast, Poha , masala chai ☕️ and papaya bowl 🍲 Lunch time I wasn’t feeling hungry, so I skipped it. Then evening 4 hit me with a sweet tooth and I made a wonderful dessert which I am proud of myself 🥰 Dinner time and it was all protein and fiber packed yumminess 😋 Pan grilled chicken, broccoli 🥦 and cauliflower; fresh veggies bed and one poached egg 🍳 One kiwi 🥝 withdrew pineapple chunks as side fruit salad. Ended with one piece dark chocolate.

We are fish eaters, or better way to say is core non vegetarians.  Prawns are one among our loved sea foods, I think most of the fish lovers are obsessed with this, and I have seen even vegetarians who starts with fish tries Prawns as their first experience.  This is a tangy stir fry with Onions, Green bell peppers and tomatoes.  Ingredients: Prawns, de-shelled, deveined and cleaned - 1 cup Green bell peppers sliced - 1/2 cup Onion sliced - 1/2 cup Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Spring onions chopped - 1 tbsp Green chillies, slit - 2 Tomatoes pureed - 1/4 cup Tomatoes chopped - 1 small Lemon juice - 1 tbsp Garlic chopped - 1 tbsp Ginger Sliced - 1 inch Tomato Ketchup- 1 tbsp Soy sauce - 2 tsp Oil for sautéing (I used coconut oil) Masalas Chilly powder - 1 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp Salt to taste Method: In a pan pour coconut oil and sputter the cumin seeds. Peppermint Hot Chocolate

My close ones by now knows the hot chocolate obsession. Actually I can do a fellowship study in Hot chocolate now I guess. See the confidence :P I have tried many variations by now and the surprising part if every other variation was outstanding. After all it is chocolate, 🍫 what can go wrong with this lovely stuff god has made. Thank you God 🙏  So this is a pepper mint flavoured hot chocolate. Base being the same with a non diary milk option, unsweetened cocoa powder, a piece of dark chocolate, coconut sugar as sweetener, peppermint flavour and raw cocoa nibs for that extra chocolaty flavour and crunch and of course the natural strong bitter touch of cocoa :) Thats what I like. I hate milk chocolates which are too sugary and doesn't do any justice to the awesome Cocoa of nature. So I am a 90+ percentage chocolate lover and I have a 99% one in my cupboard now :) which I am saving like a treasure 🥰  Ingredients: Water - 1/2 cup Peppermint extract - 2-3 drops

Protein powder yogurt ice cream

This will drive you insane, the taste and also when you come to know the ingredient list :P  So today I had a fulfilling breakfast and I was feeling full all the way till 4 o clock in the evening. Even then I didn't want a meal as such so I skipped my lunch. But you can crave for a dessert any time right :P I am trying to eat clean until I see my extra unwanted pounds added upon my trip is burned out. So decided to stick to a dessert that won't ditch the diet. Also I wanted to mention a point here. I don't do any crash diet and I want my body to come to normal by eating clean than torturing it. I have done many times the crash ones to get back to my normal weight, it did help to reach there, but I was putting my body and metabolism on stake. I decided, no more playing with health, but eating clean and healthy would help you to reach the goals. Also I stopped calorie counting, and I am just listening to my body now. It craves for something give it, and eat wh

Blueberry Cobbler

Cobblers are one among the best desserts in the world. The warm crumbly crusted top and a gooey, syrupy fruit layer inside. It is perfect for any season. Also the guilt factor is way less, as the natural fruit layer occupies the 80 percent of the cobbler mug. Cobblers can be made in a cake tin or as individual shots.  This I made in one of my visits to Trivandrum, where I bought some frozen blueberries from Big basket and took with me. I know my lil boy's love for all these berries and English desserts. His food preference and tastes are just like me. I always wonder, oh so me in this small man :)  My husband sometimes tells me, that he is Carbon copy of mine in looks, but his gestures are all upto you. The way he wraps inside his blanket is just like me, all covered, people won't know someone is inside. The way he loves all this exquisite stuffs, just my tastes, his love for dark chocolate, the chef in me took second birth with him. I have seen his passion in c

Red Rice poha - the perfect Indian breakfast!

So Sunday morning started with a healthy breakfast. As per dietician Rujitha Diwekar, you should eat  what your grama cooked. Poha of course is not what my Grama cooked, but some other Gramas in India would have for sure. Mind is desi today in first half, yes intentionally mentioned as second half would be out soon and you would know it travelled from India to America in no time :P  Today's craving is for North Indian breakfasts and Masala chai of south, especially Elachi in chai is Kerala special. Of course the Mallu blood needs something south always! As you guys know, Red rice is packed with lot of nutrients. Growing up I did not even know Rice can be white and polished. What I knew was the Red bran coated fatty rice and tasted so awesome. Teenage has taken to another phase of exploring new foods and brought home the basmati. My Dad looked at it like an Alien entered his house. The first impression wasn't that well, and he started treating Basmati like my teena

Smoothies series 🥰😋

As you know there was a time, smoothie was the integral part of my life. That doesn't mean we broke up now :P My changing eating patterns keeps me obsessed about something for sometime and then obsession moves over to another. But I cannot ever forget my smoothie days :) I was waking up each day thinking about the smoothie I have to prepare for that day, the veggie fruit combination to take the smoothie to the next level. Yes, you guys know I don't like normal things. There should be something exciting always. It is boring to be normal and I love my abnormalities because of that. I always have something or other going on. Life is just mechanical without that. We need something keep on changing which makes us to look forward for the next day to come. At least something to push us hard on that down times, to get us up from the bed :) I am adding all my smoothie images in those remarks here. The caption has ingredients. Now Enjoy!! Muskmelon and Orange, and the impat
