Homemade Granola !

Now a days I feel like every post I start with saying this is my obsession. Apparently I think food is my obsession, irrespective of whatever cuisine it is 😁 So another obsession GRANOLA 😍😍😍😍 I remember my US days where I was making granola for breakfast every morning for my office buddies and myself. Because I love them so much I think I have a great knack on combinations granola can have. The one I used to make at US was richer version with flavored milk, flavored yogurt, lots of cranberries, raisins and walnuts and to perfection it out some cinnamon powder. One of them used to say, Swathy is making Panchamritham for us. lol. For everyone’s knowledge, Panchamritham is a sweet dish made usually in temples as offering to god.  So this time I was visiting my husband at Thrissur at his office place, which is not a usual visit, as you know my visits are to Trivandrum where my core roots lie. I saw the unhealthy meals he is having everyday staying alone. The wife in ...

Toor dal halwa

So its weekend and time for some food experimenting. Today I had experimented 2 other side dishes, so wanted the sweet dish to be simple and humble :) Again my alignment to North Indian sweets has kicked in my mind and of course halwa cannot be forgotten. I have made many varieties of halwa in the past, but today wanted something different but easy. But most of them require overnight soaking and all. Now what can I choose from here which saves me from that. Oh yeah! Toor dal, my favorite he was smiling at me from the rack, "What if I can help you" So moong dal halwa id...

Soya Milk

For the past 1 month I have added soya milk in my diet, not only because of the health fact, but also because of the tasty chocolaty flavor of soyfit milk. When browsing through some pages, I suddenly came across recipe for making soya milk at home, and thought yes I need to give a try. And I am not upset about it, as the result was close enough. Of course the flavors they adds couldn't be replicated, but the outcome was something which made me think about making it my own always.  The best part of it is that it's so economical and took me only couple of ingredients. Yes, white soyabeans and water! Sounds crazy?? I am usually, but I swear that's it what you will need to make this. Just 1 glass of soya beans gained me 1.5 liters of soya milk, and most of you will be knowing soya milk is considered to be vegan, and can be included part of vegan diet. Then why thinking too much about it, go ahead and make this your own and get convinced on what I said. You would need ...
