Tuna flakes Toast

I am a Tuna lover from the time I started eating fish, and it is not too late. My mom says I used to pick fish and eat at my 8 months of age. So early right, yeah I am from a fish eating family. Also being a Malayali, it is our staple food. My memories about Tuna growing up is the biscuit sized pieces my mom used to fry and give and the cubes of tuna in  hot spicy sour coconut gravy, oh no I am drooling thinking about it now. Knowledge about Canned Tuna is that I lately developed by watching international cuisines. At first I was not able to accept Tuna in that form, because it is no more Mommy's cubed tuna. Finally I thought I will give it a try, and first time I tried it on my business trip to US, where I made a Tuna salad, and I fell in love with it. Realized Tuna is in all ways awesome :) This time I thought what about using it in a sandwich. I cannot call this Tuna sandwich, but a toast loaded with sauteed Tuna, with green peas and tomatoes, lettuce to ho...

Chia pudding in cranberry sauce- topped with red pear 🍐

Breakfasts can be so easy and fulfilling ones. All my overnight oats and chia puddings were such an example. Very easy to put it together in a glass jar, and morning you open up the jar to find the most satiating and lovely breakfast saying "Good Morning" to you. This one is a classic combo of home made cranberry preserve, for the tanginess, honey adding the sweetness, and red pears, who won't love it :) to top up with. I added some pomegranate and black raisins for the color contrast. Ingredients: Chia seeds - 30 gms Milk  Yogurt  Cranberry preserve  Dry fruits Pomegranate  Honey 🍯  Toppings: Pear 🍐 half of it  Almonds - peeled (any nuts can be used) Mix all together and keep in refrigerator overnight. This is yet another versatile dish like smoothies. The ingredients can be easily swapped with any alternative you like.

Sauteed veggies and dip!

Another recipe which has scored people's mind and I am not forced to post the recipe soon. This is such a simple dish, which cannot be even named as a dish, coz all ingredients are just randomly selected and the veggie day should be filling as well as fulfilling, so just added some ideas for making it ramp ready. As you can see below it is just some very random stuffs chopped and sauteed with bare minimum ingredients. One guarantee from me is, you won't regret preparing this recipe, rather you would appreciate opting this, this simple yet yummy bowl of goodness. This is yet another candidate of my healthy weekends, and of course all the motivation credits I am giving to BigBasket. They were so prompt about the delivery, waking me up the Saturday morning and presenting the fresh lovely veggies and fruits, and you know, that is enough to get that spark to start cooking right away. So checkout this recipe and let me know you loved it! Ingredients: Sauteed Spina...

Green Salad

I am catching up my healthy eating back this week, as the past 2 weeks were not so healthy, literally was eating out all the junks, donuts, mousse, milk shakes, ice creams, steaks... Oh my god the list never ends. I think I ate for a lifetime the past weeks. So this week was supposed to be that break week, to retain back my healthy cooking and eating of course, and a big order was placed in Big basket, my favorite store. As you guys would know by now, I am trying out salads every weekend as it was a big hit among my friends. Today also I have prepared a salad, which I would wish to call, a Green Salad, as the green color is overpowering others. I think this is influenced by a YouTube video on healthy foods, on how they can keep you feel full and with less calories. If you want to view that video here is this link : Free foods. So greens are one among the first free foods which has enough nutrients but has negligible calories. So I grabbed a bunch of veggies and also ma...

Fruity Salad - with Apple, Fig, Walnut and Honey

As you guys know, salads are one among my latest research dishes and most of them were veggie/meat bowls, I discovered as the main course for lunch. I came to know from my friends that they loved those recipes and was a big hit at their homes.Coming into the factor that salad being the main course, it may feel a little awkward first time, but you don't know a salad can be so satisfying, filling and healthy alternative to many other main courses. So if you are on a diet and your appetite is more, grab a salad bowl which can help you keeping full for a longer time. So coming back to this recipe, this was my trial for a fruity bowl, which of course is not my main course, but an appetite breaker and if you feel to just munch over, and not to add more calories. Apple is really a fat burner as many of you know, so I made it the base or the critical guy for this mission, and of course, fig is such a fruit well known for it nutrition and the soft supple fruit is really good to bite ov...

Soya halwa

Soya halwa or Soyabean halwa, the name itself sounds so healthy and of course whoever would like to have a healthy version of halwa can give a try to this great dessert. I came across this guy very accidently, and if you guys remember my earlier post on Soya milk, this is where the secret talked about in that post getting uncovered. So anyone have any hunch? Ok let me reveal the truth. It was when I was about to throw away the remains of soya milk preparation, I noticed that what I am going to throw away isn't a waste, but having as much as nutrients in soya bean. What if I can preserve it for something, or is there any way I can make a recipe out of it. If you see recently I am doing lots of research on North Indian halwas. So when I say North Indian , it is very much different from Kerala style. What I feel is North Indian halwas are easy to make and doesn't have to be so much conscious about the 2 thread consistency and all, which we have to be very much careful in...
