Choco flan - the magic cake!

Choco flan or magic cake! Yes really it's a magic. I was wondering how this cake ever happen when I saw the recipe video of this cake in YouTube. So I wanted to try it out and. See if it really works. A very simple recipe, you just need a chocolate cake batter and a flan layer which has milk, condensed milk and eggs.   For me the magic happened but in a different way. The flan was supposed to be settled down and the chocolate cake layer over it. Mine was literally an interesting magic where the flan has settled right in the middle, acting like a sandwich between the chocolate layers. It was so beautiful to see the cake when it came out of oven after 50 mins of baking. I think the consistency difference of my chocolate cake batter has made the flan settle down in middle. More trials in this would help me understand the logic behind it, I hope. That doesn't matter where the flan has settled, coz the taste was that awesome and my boys have gone crazy seeing the drooli...

Fudgy Gooey Brownies

Brownies!!! Ohh I have a 13 yr old memory, hearing this name for the first time or may be I would have heard it before, but was not stamped in my heart like this. Also at my home my mom, the culinary expert would prepare some or other thing everyday, so that we won't overindulge on bakery stuffs, so we had limited knowledge on all these foods. Thanks to my health conscious Mommy, I have inherited that feature from her. Whenever I am home I will make sure Gauthu gets to eat what I cook and there is no limit set for his choice, I will try out whatever he wants. So there is a reason why the so called brownies was a news 13 years before. My expecting Sissy was at our home from the first day of her pregnancy and I cannot tell you what it feels to have her back with me after she ditched and left me on her wedding..Lol. Yeah every second child would feel this, one reason being second child is pampered by all including the bigger ones and they would be attached to them more than p...

Chocolate Ice-cream - Hide and Seek flavor

This is the best ever chocolate ice cream I made till now. And of course I got a very good response from both my boys, especially my big boy. This was the comment made by him, that too to my parents. "I have never tasted such an awesome ice cream in my life" and to me, "ice cream kidilam aayitund", meaning, ice cream is superb. The colloquial word "kidilam" is a mallus feeling, to express something is superb. And this word has the power to touch the right neurons :) So this ice cream was part of my 2018 new year late night baking cooking, where I planned all chocolatey stuffs, brownies and the extravaganza of chocolate chips, hide n seek choco chips, and lot of home made dark chocolate syrup. My little boy was giving me company when my hubby was out with his friends for new year party, saying, "amma, I don't feel like sleeping today. Today is new year and whole night we can bake and make stuffs in kitchen". But that excitement of ...

Chocolate scones - Christmas tree scones

I was very much looking forward to bake this one and was in my pending list for long time. I got mesmerized to it while watching Gemma's bigger bolder baking channel in YouTube. She was presenting making of Irish scones and the way she explained was so easy to comprehend and found it an interesting recipe with minimal items and effort. So I decided that scones should be part of my Christmas bakes and surprisingly this scones took it's place as the first baking I did in my new oven. But the chocolate scones is inspired from home cooking adventure you tube channel with some variations, coz I wanted a Christmas tree look for them and a melt in mouth chocolatey effect. Also the ingredients , as I m a chocolate lover, I made sure that every type of chocolate available should be in.  The name says it all, triple chocolate scones, which has three types of chocolates added, chocolate powder, chocolate chips and chopped dark chocolate for topping. In my new oven I could...
