Tuna flakes Toast

I am a Tuna lover from the time I started eating fish, and it is not too late. My mom says I used to pick fish and eat at my 8 months of age. So early right, yeah I am from a fish eating family. Also being a Malayali, it is our staple food. My memories about Tuna growing up is the biscuit sized pieces my mom used to fry and give and the cubes of tuna in  hot spicy sour coconut gravy, oh no I am drooling thinking about it now. Knowledge about Canned Tuna is that I lately developed by watching international cuisines. At first I was not able to accept Tuna in that form, because it is no more Mommy's cubed tuna. Finally I thought I will give it a try, and first time I tried it on my business trip to US, where I made a Tuna salad, and I fell in love with it. Realized Tuna is in all ways awesome :) This time I thought what about using it in a sandwich. I cannot call this Tuna sandwich, but a toast loaded with sauteed Tuna, with green peas and tomatoes, lettuce to ho...

Beet Green grapes 🍇 smoothie

Smoothie of the day! This is part of my new Smoothie of the day! challenge :) I don't think my morning smoothies now needs a lot of explanation. I have had the story telling in my old posts already :P This one is one of my personal favorites, the beet version. The color is so beautiful to fall in love for. Beet and green grapes giving a pale maroonish shade, which is a treat to your eyes and taste buds ! Ingredients: Beet, peeled and boiled Green grapes Lettuce Banana Oats Cucumber 🥒 Turmeric root Pepper powder Curd, Epigamia Artisanal is the best. Another brand I use is Nestle Probiotics Milk 🥛 which of course is slim milk. Amul Slim is the latest Seed mix and walnuts for topping. As you know, the quantity of ingredients in smoothie is never mentioned because of the fact that, it dependents on how many people you prepare that for, and ratios of course, I don't think you can go wrong with it. Smoothies are such a versatile things in this world :) ...

Sauteed veggies and dip!

Another recipe which has scored people's mind and I am not forced to post the recipe soon. This is such a simple dish, which cannot be even named as a dish, coz all ingredients are just randomly selected and the veggie day should be filling as well as fulfilling, so just added some ideas for making it ramp ready. As you can see below it is just some very random stuffs chopped and sauteed with bare minimum ingredients. One guarantee from me is, you won't regret preparing this recipe, rather you would appreciate opting this, this simple yet yummy bowl of goodness. This is yet another candidate of my healthy weekends, and of course all the motivation credits I am giving to BigBasket. They were so prompt about the delivery, waking me up the Saturday morning and presenting the fresh lovely veggies and fruits, and you know, that is enough to get that spark to start cooking right away. So checkout this recipe and let me know you loved it! Ingredients: Sauteed Spina...

Green Salad

I am catching up my healthy eating back this week, as the past 2 weeks were not so healthy, literally was eating out all the junks, donuts, mousse, milk shakes, ice creams, steaks... Oh my god the list never ends. I think I ate for a lifetime the past weeks. So this week was supposed to be that break week, to retain back my healthy cooking and eating of course, and a big order was placed in Big basket, my favorite store. As you guys would know by now, I am trying out salads every weekend as it was a big hit among my friends. Today also I have prepared a salad, which I would wish to call, a Green Salad, as the green color is overpowering others. I think this is influenced by a YouTube video on healthy foods, on how they can keep you feel full and with less calories. If you want to view that video here is this link : Free foods. So greens are one among the first free foods which has enough nutrients but has negligible calories. So I grabbed a bunch of veggies and also ma...

Fruity Salad - with Apple, Fig, Walnut and Honey

As you guys know, salads are one among my latest research dishes and most of them were veggie/meat bowls, I discovered as the main course for lunch. I came to know from my friends that they loved those recipes and was a big hit at their homes.Coming into the factor that salad being the main course, it may feel a little awkward first time, but you don't know a salad can be so satisfying, filling and healthy alternative to many other main courses. So if you are on a diet and your appetite is more, grab a salad bowl which can help you keeping full for a longer time. So coming back to this recipe, this was my trial for a fruity bowl, which of course is not my main course, but an appetite breaker and if you feel to just munch over, and not to add more calories. Apple is really a fat burner as many of you know, so I made it the base or the critical guy for this mission, and of course, fig is such a fruit well known for it nutrition and the soft supple fruit is really good to bite ov...

Healthy Weekends 2

Thought to rename my weekend stories to Healthy weekends, as basically the stories over here are food and health only. I had a very late Friday night, it's Friday night and it has to be like that :P Spoiling yourself in some  weakness of your's. I slept in between something and really don't remember when was it. Saturday started with a door bell ring, and I was thinking, who in this world at this early morning is ringing my door bell. Thought its my maid, cursing in mind, why she has to come so early, where she used to come at noon usually. And had a glance of the time and screamed, "Wow! its 10 30" and I am still sleepy creepy! So I opened the door to see the BigBasket boy waiting with my order in my door steps, saying, "Madam! your bigbasket order". I was still sleepy and ran inside to take the keys. I don't know what that guy would have thought, seeing a women this sleepy at 10 30 in morning. Ahh! anyways he gave the best morning gift, ...

Energy bars - pre workout food

So the birth of this recipe is purely situational, where there started a need for pre workout food, as my workout schedules are totally changed. Now a days I am having a late workout, as my office shift is afternoon till 10 and I would be so lazy to get out of bed. I could feel that I was starving during exercise and the old energy to do was missing. Breakfast is the important part of daily meal and I m like almost skipping it, as the first meal goes to my tummy around start of early noon. So I decided to find out some light meals that I can have before the workout. So the thought started on what can be the best food... I recollected having a breakfast bar from Etihad airways which calls itself an energy bar having less calories, I got it in their low fat meal plan. I m not pretty sure on all ingredients, but could guess some like sesame seeds and dates syrup. So it's deal now! I m going to make my own energy bar, which would be as good as a normal breakfast and good thing ...
