Any of my friends & family familiar with this dish? Why I am asking so because I came to know such a dish exists in such a name very recently; exactly 1 week ago. They are called CHILIS 😱
I was thinking very high of myself that I would be knowing the world cuisines at least by their name, but no I have way to go!
So chilia per the youtuber is a comfort food for the fall time, when weather gets colder. So it’s not fall in Bangalore but atleast the weather is getting colder here too which made me decide to make my first chili during this time. Of course what else is comforting on these cold days than a bowl of heart warming spicy curry soup 🍲
So chilly resembles a Indian curry marries with a soup. It’s so versatile that you can make spicy red colored ones or white ones which gets the hotness from pepper or green chillies.
A classic chili masala has paprika powder, cumin , turmeric as common: but I made my chili a little Indianish by adding coriander powder, pepper crushed and Kashmiri chili powder.
This is a vegetarian version replacing ground meat with paneer cubes, mixed beans of broad beans and red kidney beans and lot of veggies. Usually chili’s would end up with an addition of greens 🥬. I used Bok Choy, a typical Chinese cabbage as my chili green.
For the sauce I used Worstershire and added some red pickled paprika for that extra flavor. Base veggies is so easy, which is just chopped onion, garlic , ginger garlic paste , spring onions and leeks, green bell peppers 🌶 carrots 🥕
As I said this is my version of veggies ; you can add what ever is your preferred ones. Also The cottage cheese can be replaced with Tofu or Ground meat or even fish . I am dreaming out a clams and prawns 🍤 chili now; may be next among my chilis 😋
Also I want to mention the YouTube channel I git this recipe from. It is the domestic geek channel and I just love the chef. Sarah Lincoln if you are seeing this post anyhow, I want to tell you that you are just awesome 👏
