Tahini - The nutty sesame spread

I seem to be very much proud to present this recipe!

This is the yummiest thing in the world is what I cried out, licking the finger dipped in my mixer to get the first taste of this creamy, heavenly, luscious dip I made at home. This can be used as a dressing, dip or even spread over your toast.
I am always a dip and dressing lover. I love my crackers, breads, and salads drenched in dips and dressings. But lately I figured out these are adding those extra not so good calories, I mean the store brought ones.

Then I started trying to make my versions of dips, and I am so happy to see that it is even better than store brought, with all the extra vinegars and preservatives tastes. The one made at home tastes the actual ingredient.

Who will bring store brought then, if you get better results, cheaper and guilt free knowing the ingredients went through the process.

So here I am presenting my creamy Tahini which in itself turned out to be so good a spread, but the intention behind preparing this was my home made dip, Hummus. Hummus recipe is on the way. SO now to Tahini :)

Ingredients
Very simple :)
Sesame dry roasted , until light brown
Sesame oil
Pink Himalayan Salt as required
And that is it :) Wow right.

Roast your sesame seeds until light brown. Be careful here, you don't need to over roast it.
Allow to cool and pulse it in mixer until fine powder. Pulse more adding salt and sesame oil. Add oil 1 tsp at a time, until desired consistency.

Grilled Chicken in Quinoa Tortilla wrap

Healthy meal preparation is so satisfying, as we know we are feeding our loved ones with clean food. When I say clean food it does mean, non processed, with balanced nutrients, and not in expense of the taste. These healthy tortilla wraps are so yummy that you will not even imagine it has so many hidden good stuffs in it. I am like my mom, she is too smart to hide the good stuffs in whatever she prepares and we will not even know what we just ate had something which we hate if given in its form. Now I have acquired that smartness too and just few days back I prepared an Avocado Mango smoothie for one of my colleague and she told, "I hate Avocados! My mom would be surprised if she comes to know that I had Avocado. But how yummy your smoothie is ! " I was glad that I could make someone eat a healthy thing which they hated ever, and my hiding skills worked out.  The same lady was fooled by my papaya halwa, she is a papaya hater too :P Fooling people is good som...

Bionico - Mexican Fruit Dessert

I was looking for a dessert which is simple and healthy for today and what came to my mind was Parfait. But the day was Mexican themed and I didn't want to deviate for the dessert part and spoil my theme plan ;) I was looking for similar desserts of Mexican origin, coz I wanted an easy healthy option and has base ingredients which I already have at home.  My search for the recipe ended in this great dessert from Mexico, The Fruit Bionico, which resembles parfait in many ingredients, just some difference in some of them. And I found an interesting factor in it and that strengthened my decision to go on with this. Yes, that is nothing but, our own freshly grated coconut :P Bionico is on sweeter side when compared to Parfait because of its sweetner condensed milk. I had my jars saved from Frozen bottle ice cream cakes, and that helped me to give my Bionico that ramp ready look. After the layers were set up, I was going crazy with the photos, as the beauty was looking so pr...

Soya halwa

Soya halwa or Soyabean halwa, the name itself sounds so healthy and of course whoever would like to have a healthy version of halwa can give a try to this great dessert. I came across this guy very accidently, and if you guys remember my earlier post on Soya milk, this is where the secret talked about in that post getting uncovered. So anyone have any hunch? Ok let me reveal the truth. It was when I was about to throw away the remains of soya milk preparation, I noticed that what I am going to throw away isn't a waste, but having as much as nutrients in soya bean. What if I can preserve it for something, or is there any way I can make a recipe out of it. If you see recently I am doing lots of research on North Indian halwas. So when I say North Indian , it is very much different from Kerala style. What I feel is North Indian halwas are easy to make and doesn't have to be so much conscious about the 2 thread consistency and all, which we have to be very much careful in...
