After coming to Bangalore I am experimenting on North Indian food a lot, and especially sweets, the gang being aligned to it. Of course Ladoo being loved by most people and easy one i have tried many different variations of it using different types of base.
Today again weekend journey has a healthy story. What if I use the same old logic of preparing something for the sweet tooth craving, but need not have to later regret for. Then came the idea of mixing the healthiest choice of anyone who is on diet, Oats. Mixed it with protein rich nuts and Jaggery for sweetness. Coconut oil for the fat to bind and a little drizzle of water to mold it, with your ghee greased hands.
Ingredients

Nuts - peanuts , cashews, almonds - 1/2 cup dry roasted
Jaggery powder - 3/4 cup
Pinch of each - cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, clove powder
Coconut oil - 2 tsp
Drizzle of water
Ghee to grease hands
Method
Dry roast the Oats and nuts separately. Grind the oats and nuts until fine powder. Now add jaggery and grind for 3 pulse.
Add the powders and coconut oil and cook in low heat for 3 to 4 mins until the mixture becomes lumpy. Now drizzle water enough to make the balls. Grease hands and roll into gooseberry sized balls.
