Waffles - with chocolate icecream and syrup

Waffles , pancakes and crepes are of same family when it comes to ingredients, the difference being each one would have a different consistency. So basically the liquid part is more, or less in each type. The waffles I made is of crispy texture, which tasted exactly like an ice cream cone. I don't have a traditional waffle maker, but used a silica waffle mold, which I microwaved for first 30 seconds, 2 times and then for 3 minutes continuously.

Topped it up with the home made chocolate ice cream and home made chocolate sauce.
Waffle consistency is in middle of pancakes and crepes. A flowy batter which is less thick than pan cake batter, but thicker than crepes. Somewhat similar to our dosa batter I would say.

The time to microwave solely depends on how much crispiness you need. I wanted a cone texture and that's why I baked until crispy, and I wanted a hollow grid and filled the batter only half way.
When you top it with your favorite ice cream and sauce you could experience having a cone ice cream at home. The waffles I made had a wafer texture because of its hollow form.

Ingredients:

All purpose flour - 1 1/4 cups
Salt a pinch
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Eggs - 3 nos
Vanilla extract - 2 tsp
Milk - 2/3 cup
Butter - 2 tbsps melted

Method :
Mix all ingredients together until no lumps are found. Keep it for 10 mins before cooking.
Use a waffle mold or waffle maker, and cook till it's crispy. If using waffle mold microwave for 4 seconds, checking between 30 seconds first and between 1 minute afterwards. If you want a soft waffle, you can bake for 2 minutes and serve.

Note : If consistency is thick you can add water or warm milk.

Grilled Chicken in Quinoa Tortilla wrap

Healthy meal preparation is so satisfying, as we know we are feeding our loved ones with clean food. When I say clean food it does mean, non processed, with balanced nutrients, and not in expense of the taste. These healthy tortilla wraps are so yummy that you will not even imagine it has so many hidden good stuffs in it. I am like my mom, she is too smart to hide the good stuffs in whatever she prepares and we will not even know what we just ate had something which we hate if given in its form. Now I have acquired that smartness too and just few days back I prepared an Avocado Mango smoothie for one of my colleague and she told, "I hate Avocados! My mom would be surprised if she comes to know that I had Avocado. But how yummy your smoothie is ! " I was glad that I could make someone eat a healthy thing which they hated ever, and my hiding skills worked out.  The same lady was fooled by my papaya halwa, she is a papaya hater too :P Fooling people is good som...

Bionico - Mexican Fruit Dessert

I was looking for a dessert which is simple and healthy for today and what came to my mind was Parfait. But the day was Mexican themed and I didn't want to deviate for the dessert part and spoil my theme plan ;) I was looking for similar desserts of Mexican origin, coz I wanted an easy healthy option and has base ingredients which I already have at home.  My search for the recipe ended in this great dessert from Mexico, The Fruit Bionico, which resembles parfait in many ingredients, just some difference in some of them. And I found an interesting factor in it and that strengthened my decision to go on with this. Yes, that is nothing but, our own freshly grated coconut :P Bionico is on sweeter side when compared to Parfait because of its sweetner condensed milk. I had my jars saved from Frozen bottle ice cream cakes, and that helped me to give my Bionico that ramp ready look. After the layers were set up, I was going crazy with the photos, as the beauty was looking so pr...

Soya halwa

Soya halwa or Soyabean halwa, the name itself sounds so healthy and of course whoever would like to have a healthy version of halwa can give a try to this great dessert. I came across this guy very accidently, and if you guys remember my earlier post on Soya milk, this is where the secret talked about in that post getting uncovered. So anyone have any hunch? Ok let me reveal the truth. It was when I was about to throw away the remains of soya milk preparation, I noticed that what I am going to throw away isn't a waste, but having as much as nutrients in soya bean. What if I can preserve it for something, or is there any way I can make a recipe out of it. If you see recently I am doing lots of research on North Indian halwas. So when I say North Indian , it is very much different from Kerala style. What I feel is North Indian halwas are easy to make and doesn't have to be so much conscious about the 2 thread consistency and all, which we have to be very much careful in...
